Trustees and leaders at Anglian Learning are very excited to have responsibility for working with partners from the DfE, the Local Authority, Marshall, Hill and Morgan-Sindall to create Marleigh Primary School as a key provision for families moving into the new Marleigh community on the eastern fringe of the City of Cambridge.
The Marleigh Primary School will grow to be a two-form entry primary school with a 52 place Nursery. Leaders at Anglian Learning intend that the school will be recognised locally and nationally as a centre of excellence in the quality and inspiration of the school environment and in the richness of the curriculum children experience. Reflecting the heritage of the site and the nature of the City, the curriculum will be led by a focus on STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) subjects along with a direct focus on pupils acquiring high quality English competence as well as engendering a love for reading and the arts.
Trust leaders intend to engage leaders and staff from other Anglian Learning schools in designing the provision and the curriculum. In this way, the Marleigh will reflect the aspirations for all children and young people in Trust schools and we will be able to maximise the resources made available to us as we establish the school.
We have a strong vision for the school and subject to planning regulations being met our intention is for the school to open in January or September 2022. Our key intent is for Marleigh Primary School to be at the core of the Marleigh community and to ensure that the children of families moving into housing within the Marleigh development can have a place at the school.
